Terps Host Georgia Tech To Gain Leg Up In Topsy Turvy ACC

1/14/2012 9:10:26 PM The ACC this year is a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma.  No one can figure it out.  UNC lost to FSU today by 33 points.  33 points!  Who cares if it was in Tallahassee?  Sure, the Seminoles were preseason #3 in the conference but no one expected that.

Georgia Tech dominated NC State on the road this week.  The Terps need to be wary.  Maryland can ill afford to drop any home games and the Jackets are coming in on a roll.

For their part, the Terps continue to show flashes of greatness followed immediately by flashes of maddening mediocrity.  I'd like to see a complete 40 minutes but I will continue to settle for wins.  So will Mark Turgeon.

Stoglin, our star, is reportedly nursing a sore back, but he'll go. Make no mistake.  If the Terps own the glass like they have been and hit their FTs like they haven't been; MD will win.  In fact, I don't think they'll lose many games where they hit over 80% from the stripe.

For my part, I'll be in sunny Mexico for tip off so it's likely that I won't see the game.  Hopefully, the boys will take care of business while I"m getting out of this infernal cold weather in Chicago.
