Terps Bounce Back, Crush Virginia

2/15/2010 8:21:55 PM What Duke game?  Gary Williams said before the game that it was "gut check" time and his Terps came through.  Maryland blew Virginia out of the building.  It wasn't even close.  From the opening tip, the Terps took the game to the Cavaliers.  What's more, there was a workmanlike self-assurance that the starters displayed.  It was as if they knew they going to crush UVA.

The Terps are KILLING people at home.  They won by 19 tonight, but that was a 20 point win until the "human victory cigars" gave away the lead at the end. That's four straight home blow outs.  No one could have predicted that.

Vazquez was again sublime. He played the perfect first half: 25 points, 5 assists, and 4 rebounds on 10-13 shooting and 0 turnovers. He is dominating the conference (aside from Durham).

J Will and Padgett were active all night and ran the floor extremely well.  Gregory has been playing just fine and I am beginning to talk myself into a traditional frontcourt next season (JW at C with JP and DG at the forward spots).  If JWill develops a post move or two; it could happen.  I did notice that he unveiled a hook shot tonight.  That got me out of my chair.

Mosley, on the other hand, is woefully out of sync.  He is building a new wing at Comcast with all the bricks he is throwing at the basket.  The Terps need him down the stretch if they want to overcome the Dukes of the world.

Now we head to NC State.  The Wolfpack has been struggling terribly and the Terps need to take advantage of that fact.  If the Terps can get to 8-3 in the conference heading into those big home games (GaTech and Clemson); well that's all you can ask for as a fan.
