Sam Cassell Jr Re-ups With Maryland

It's a great day for Maryland as Sam Cassell Jr made it official before the tipoff of the Capitol Classic this evening.  Turgeon will now have s 7 new players suiting up for Midnight Madness.   Smotrycz won't play during the season but the rest will.  I expect Sam Jr to play a big role.  His improved dramatically each year he's been a prep and [...] Read More »

Michigan Transfer Evan Smotrycz To Take Official Visit To Maryland

Apparently, Michigan sophomore starting forward Evan Smotrycz is fed up with UM that he wants to transfer to UM.  Smotrycz (no idea how to pronounce his name) helped lead Michigan to the NCAA Tournament this year.  He averaged 7.7ppg, shot 43% 3PT and nabbed 4.9rpg.  He's narrowed his choices to Maryland, Providence, and Colorado. At 6'9", Smotry [...] Read More »

Sam Cassell Jr Commits To Terps

Today, the final tickets to the 2012 Final Four were punched, and perhaps, the Terps took the first step to getting back there.  Sam Cassell Jr, a slick combo guard with fabulous blood lines became a Terp today. Mark Turgeon now has six committed recruits for 2012. With Cassell, they now have two guards (Allen and SCJ), three forwards (Mitchell, D [...] Read More »

Meet Ian Baker

The Terps seem to finally be addressing the gaping hole at the point guard slot next year.  Yes, Pe'Shon Howard will be back and (presumably) healthy; but Turgeon needs a floor general who can get all of next year's assets involved in the halfcourt.  Baker might not be the immediate answer; but he is a high major project who decommitted from S [...] Read More »

Stefon Diggs Announcement Thread

Stefon Diggs, the 5th highest ranked football recruit in the nation is making his college choice public today at Looney's in College Park at 6pm this evening. All signs point to either Florida or Maryland as the choice.  Can you imagine, if he came to College Park and went with Florida.  That would be some kick in the balls, huh?  In fact, I'd eq [...] Read More »

Wes Brown, Top RB Recruit in State Chooses Terps

Wes Brown committed to the Terps tonight coinciding with his appearance on ESPN in the Under Armour High School All-Star Football Game.    Every major recruiting service lists Brown as one of the best 20 running backs in the senior class.  It's a huge get for Randy Edsall and the best piece of news the football program has had in over a year. Christian Sanders Commits To Stanford

The headline says it all.  The Terps have lost 3-star combo guard to Stanford.  Sanders is a sharpshooter, so in my humble opinion, he's an asset on any team.  The Terps have not exactly been "lights out" from beyond the arc, so it hurts to lose a kid who can shoot well. On the flip side, Maryland is loaded at guard and Turgeon has his eyes on t [...] Read More »

West Virginia Recap and Meet Charles Mitchell

Yesterday's loss was brutal.  It was brutal because the Terps valiantly fought back from 24 points down only to have our best player throw an AWFUL pick to end the game. Sure, there are plenty of positives to take away from the game (defense played well in the second half, Terps ran the ball well and moved down the field with ease of the last 3 [...] Read More »

Remaining Class of 2012 Wish List

With Jake Layman on board and Jerami Grant officially out of the picture; the Terps recruiting class of 2012 is starting to come into focus. Maryland's remaining wish list is a short one: 1A - Mitch McGary. 1B - Amile Jefferson McGary and Jefferson would elevate the Terps into the stratosphere.  Each possess a unique skill set that would tu [...] Read More »
