Georgia Southern and UNC Threads

Our football team is playing hard but virtually unable to do anything offensively. Even so, they merit some space on today's game thread.

The bigger game is against Georgia Southern at Comcast Center.  The basketball team needs play much better than what we saw in the second half vs. Lafayette.  Granted, Lafayette was on fire hitting 15 threes, but they cleary exploited some weak Terp perimeter defense.

Tonight, we should be looking for a much better defensive performance from our guards.  What's more, I'd like to see better shot selection out of Faust, Wells, et.al.  We've yet to see the Terps catch fire from beyond the arc. Tonight would be a good one to get off the snide.

Maryland - Georgia Tech Thread

The Terps will attempt to redefine the term "Linebacker U" as a freshman reserve linebacker will start at quarterback. How we got here has been well documented.  It will either be a legendary moment or a laughable one. Let's hope for the former. [...] Read More »

And Then There Was None. Rowe Out For The Year

We've now officially entered unchartered territory as the Terps have lost an unprecedented 4th QB to a season-ending injury.  The new QB is rumored to freshman Linebacker, Shawn Petty, who quarterbacked Greenbelt's Eleanor Roosevelt High School last year.  If Petty goes down, which at this point you need to prepare for, Brian McMahon a freshman TE [...] Read More »

I Strongly Dislike Randy Edsall

Randy Edsall sucks as a tactical game coach.  End of Story.  The last eight minutes of the game against BC were a clinic on how to coach a game to lose.   The Terps force a turnover inside the BC 40-yard line and instead of putting the game away; Edsall goes conservative and BC forces a three and out. We punt it back to BC and play a prevent de [...] Read More »

Hills To Burns To Rowe In Less Than A Week

Since the moment that Brad Craddock missed that 33 yard field goal on Saturday, nothing has gone right for the football team.  Both newly anointed starting QB, Devin Burns and starting wideout Marcus Leak are now gone for the season with foot injuries. True freshman, Caleb Rowe is now the only QB on the roster.  Leak and Burns now find themselve [...] Read More »

Maryland vs NC State Thread

I'm getting this up right at kickoff. Sorry for the delay. I've been at a sales conference all week.  Terps have a chance to make a statement that they are for real today. A won and Maryland is a legit division contender and a likely bowl participant. It should be a defensive battle and come down to the wire. Go Terps! [...] Read More »

Terps Hold On Against Virginia, 27-20

The Terps started brightly only to muddle through a weak 2nd and 3rd quarter; but they held on and play well in the 4th quarter for a huge ACC road win.  Maryland is firmly ensconced in sole possession of first place in the ACC standings. Granted, we are in mid-October but at 4-2, I can actually see my way to an 8-4 record.  It's not as preposte [...] Read More »

Maryland - UVA Gameday Thread

Despite all the bluster of the Duke - UNC rivalry; I've always believed that the ACC never really had rivalries in the same way other conferences do.  To me, every team is a rival.  I don't particularly want to beat Georgia Tech anymore than I want to beat Clemson.  However, if Maryland has a rival; its UVA.  Charlottesville is a nice place.  R [...] Read More »

Terps Edge Wake In Uninspiring Victory 19-14

A few quick observations: The Offensive Line is awful.  The routinely get blown up on the line of scrimmage on run plays and miss assignments on passing plays.  It's really ugly Maryland's defense is borderline elite.  Seriously.  Wake is a decimated team but they did nothing outside of the first play of the game.  If not for the gift turnove [...] Read More »

Wake Forest Beckons

This is a big sports weekend for anyone from Baltimore.  The Orioles will be playing in their first playoff game in 15 years.  While that in and of itself is notable; what's more interesting is how the Orioles got to this point.  At 93-69, the 2012 Orioles have turned in one of the best seasons the franchise has had in 30 years and they've done wit [...] Read More »
