Maryland vs FSU

For the second time this month, I find myself in Las Vegas at a sales conference while Maryland is playing Florida State.  Lets hope the outcome is different.   The second half of that game was the beginning of the downward spiral for the Terps. Lowlights included 13 straight missed shots as Maryland frittered away 12 point lead. Now the Terp [...] Read More »

Maryland vs Duke

The Terps head to Cameron today to take on a Duke squad that is licking its wounds after a pasting vs. Miami earlier in the week.  That game should give the Terps encouragement.  Not only does it make Duke look beatable, but it also gives the Terps a better feeling about their loss to Miami. That loss was one of the worst games I've ever watche [...] Read More »

Maryland vs BC

Happy MLK Day everyone.  I hope that whatever you are doing that you have time to contemplate what today is supposed to be about. It's not just a "day off" but a moment to honor the struggle of a people and ability of love to triumph over hate. While Baltimore and it's expats (me!!) are trying to come down from yesterday's high, the Terps give u [...] Read More »

Maryland vs UNC

UNC is not the same UNC we are used to seeing.  They look vulnerable.  Desmond Hubert is regularly involved in things.  Remember him?  Desperate Terp fans were briefly enamored with him Jordan Williams abandoned us.  Regardless, this is not the same UNC team were used to seeing. However, these Terps aren't the same Terps we were used to seeing t [...] Read More »

Maryland vs NC State Thread

Like the rest of Terp Nation, this two-game sojourn into the wilderness of hideous basketball has me concerned.  For the most part, I chalked it up to lackluster PG play combined with an inability to hit shots.  Both things are fixable. That was until Mark Turgeon floated out the idea of moving Nick Faust over to point.  Now, I'm really concerne [...] Read More »

The Wheels Fall Off In Miami

What just happened?  I thought I turned on a college basketball game and instead I watched a girl's middle school basketball team take on the Miami Hurricanes.  I deleted all traces of the game from my DVR for fear that it would permeate into my HD TV and somehow destroy it. Whatever momentum, sense of self, and offensive flow that the Terps dev [...] Read More »

Terps Crush Hokies, 94-71

In the history of Maryland basketball, the Terps have had better ACC openers, but I don't remember them. Granted, Virginia Tech is not Duke, but good teams (dare I say great?) blow out average teams and that's what happened today at the Comcast Center. What a dominant performance! Watching the game, you never got the sense that the Hokies ever h [...] Read More »

ACC Opener: VaTech vs Maryland

We are finally here Terp fans! Turgeon and crew are set to tip off at Noon ET tomorrow.   Virginia Tech poses an interesting test.  They have some nice wins (Ok St) and some perplexing losses (Georgia Southern). The Hokies sport the leading scorer in the ACC (Erick Green) but lack depth.  They remind me of last year's Terps squad.  Remember, whe [...] Read More »

Maryland vs Stonybrook

They're baaaaaaack! the Terps are finally back tonight after the annual Finals Week lay off.  It's been a pretty successful week considering that the Terps have moved up more that 20 spots in the most recent RPI rating.  Maryland now sits at #35. That's great for a team that hasn't beaten a ranked opponent (or played one) all year.  That won't c [...] Read More »

Maryland vs South Carolina St Thread

It's cupcake season in College Park and the 7-1 Terps are making the most of it.  Coach Turgeon tinkered with his lineup against UMES and he indicated that he would do the same today.  With a team as deep as the one Turgeon has, why not?  It's fair to say that this team's second five could have beaten last year's starters.  The freshman need pl [...] Read More »
