Maryland vs Georgetown

11/14/2016 12:10:52 PM Friday's game was a disappointing start but it wasn't disastrous.  The Terps won and showed some flashes.   The turnovers continue to be a nightmare but one has to think it will get better.  The rebounding was a big bright spot as the Terps doubled up American on the boards.

The shooting from the outside was dreadful.  Nickens was just a mess.  Hopefully, he'll have fixed his stroke by tomorrow night.  If Jared isn't hitting threes, he's a liability out there.  It's a bit frustrating that he hasn't improved defensively or off the dribble in his two-plus years in College Park.

For their part, Georgetown looked less shaky in their opener.  They blew SC Upstate out by 44 points and topped the 100 mark. The Hoyas are coming off their worst season in John Thompson III's tenure having failed to make the post season last year.

They return super-senior guard Rodney Prior (he's 24 years old) and they have a bevy of sophomores who should be much improved from their freshman year.

I expect a tough battle and Maryland will need to give its best effort to have a chance.
