Tomorrow's game against the Nittany Lions is arguably the biggest game Maryland has played in close to a decade. The Terps have a chance to get to 5-0 for the first time since 2001- and we all know what happened that year.
The Terps are actually favored in Happy Valley which incredible when you consider the quality of opponents the Terps her faced thus far. On the positive side, Maryland is coming off a shellacking of Purdue but on the negative side, they are twin weeks removed from an OT win against Central Florida.
Are the Terps any good? I think so. They are definitely well coached. It's clear that both DJ Durking and OC Walt Bell have a strategic plan when they go out onto the field. For the most part, the players have executed it.
Penn State is a big step up in quality but they aren't world beaters. They were lucky to come out on top against Minnesota and they barely eked by Temple. Losses to Pitt and Michigan show that they aren't capable of beating good teams. Is Maryland one of those good teams? We'll see.
The running game has been a revelation and the defense has been well organized. The passing game is underwhelming and good teams will exploit that. Hopefully, Penn State can't.
A win tomorrow and the Terps could be set up for a great season.
