Maryland Football came crashing down to Earth in Happy (Not Happy) Valley last weekend. The defense was overmatched and Penn State demonstrated a different level of athletic class than the Terps currently possess.
Looking back, it's hard to believe that prognosticators thought the Terps could win. If Penn State had played Maryland's schedule heading into the game, they'd have been 4-0 too.
All is not lost. We know now that DJ Durkin can't work miracles. This team has a ceiling and it's likely a something on the order of a middling Big Ten team.
Minnesota is also a middling Big Ten team and they come to College Park for their inaugural visit. Granted, they played Penn State a lot closer a few weeks ago, so tomorrow could be ugly but I suspect the Terps will play much better.
A win and they still have a chance at a successful season. That means a decent bowl and a shot at 8 wins.
