Gameday: Maryland vs Michigan State

11/15/2014 7:57:27 AM The Terps welcome Sparty to the friendly confines of Byrd Stadium this evening.  Both teams are bowl eligible although the respective national profiles are quite different.  Michigan State was in the national championship discussion up until last weekend, while our Terps have been on the cusp of relevance all year.

The quest for relevance is indeed why today's game is so important.  Maryland has played a ranked team competitively in god-knows-how-long.  Few expect a Terp win today, but a competitive contest would make us all feel like we are headed in the right direction.

The lost of Diggs for the season is devastating but the Terps have the talent on edges to recover.  I shudder thinking about CJ Brown making good throws against the Spartans elite defense but these guys are human and can be beaten.

A win would be dreamland.  A close game would come close to that.

PS- the basketball discussion continues in the thread below.
