Gameday: Maryland vs Nebraska

The Terps limp into Lincoln tomorrow after successive blowouts at the hands of Michigan and Ohio State.

While both teams are national title contenders, the Terrapins were cowed in a most embarrassing way. The Terps could not stop either team nor could they score (save for 6 points).

It was a showcase in how far the Terps have to go in order to be amongst the elite programs in the country.

Defensively, the Terps simply don't have the athletes to stop the elite teams.  Offensively, the Terps lack the balance required to be consistent.

Add to that, the knucklehead suspensions of skill players for shooting BB guns (what is wrong with you) and this game at Nebraska is likely to get out of hand too.

It'd be nice if the Terps are working striking distance in the 4th quarter. Anything less is a disappointment.

Maryland vs Georgetown

Friday's game was a disappointing start but it wasn't disastrous.  The Terps won and showed some flashes.   The turnovers continue to be a nightmare but one has to think it will get better.  The rebounding was a big bright spot as the Terps doubled up American on the boards. The shooting from the outside was dreadful.  Nickens was just a mess.  [...] Read More »

Gameday: Maryland vs Ohio State

Maryland squeaked by American last night. They never led by more than 7 points and trailed late in the second half. Many will point to working in 3 new freshman, a grad transfer, and a shooting guard who hadn't played in 20 months while recuperating from a knee injury, but I will counter with: it was American University (12-19 last season) [...] Read More »

#25 Maryland vs American

The 2016-17 Maryland Terrapins Men's Basketball Team kicks off its season tonight against American University. As is the case with these early season cupcakes, the game is less about the opponent and more about how the Terps are coming together. If the exhibition against Catawba is an indicator, the Terps freshman class is a solid one. Cowan, H [...] Read More »

Gameday: Maryland vs #2 Michigan

The Terps are massive underdogs and are likely candidates for a blow out loss tomorrow. The defense against Indiana demonstrated how far the Terps need to go to be consistent in the Big Ten. Right now, they just don't have the athletes on that side of the ball to stop good teams.  Michigan is not known for its offensive prowess as much as [...] Read More »

Gameday: Maryland vs Indiana

The Terps can get bowl eligible in Bloomington tomorrow as they take on the frisky Indiana Hoosiers. Indiana has also beaten Michigan State and they played the undefeated Nebraska Conrhuskers very close on the road. Maryland will be in a dogfight. A win and DJ Durkin's first season is guaranteed to be resounding success.  After last [...] Read More »

Gameday: Maryland vs Michigan State

The last two weeks have proven that DJ Durkin has a long road ahead. The talent on the roster is just not good enough to compete with most of the Big Ten. It's going to take time to undo all the damage that Randy Edsall did during his tenure. As evidence, we can look at all the true freshman that are making an impact this season. Unfortunately [...] Read More »

Gameday: Maryland vs Minnesota

Maryland Football came crashing down to Earth in Happy (Not Happy) Valley last weekend. The defense was overmatched and Penn State demonstrated a different level of athletic class than the Terps currently possess. Looking back, it's hard to believe that prognosticators thought the Terps could win. If Penn State had played Maryland's schedule h [...] Read More »

Gameday: Maryland vs Penn State

Tomorrow's game against the Nittany Lions is arguably the biggest game Maryland has played in close to a decade. The Terps have a chance to get to 5-0 for the first time since 2001- and we all know what happened that year. The Terps are actually favored in Happy Valley which incredible when you consider the quality of opponents the Terps her f [...] Read More »
