#17 Maryland @ Ohio State

If you haven't fallen I love with this Terp team yet, then what are you waiting for?

Maryland did it again on Saturday. They came from behind with a sublime second half effort against and stout Minnesota squad. Make no mistake, the Gophers didn't blow the game, the Terps just took it from them.

Maryland was deadly from behind the arc and they committed only 7 turnovers for the whole game.

Melo dished out 9 assists. Justin Jackson and Kevin Huerter were assassins out there. It was a complete effort minus a couple of bone headed fumbles by Damonte Dodd down the stretch.

The Terps are now cruising. Ranked #17 in the country and undefeated on the road. The press is finally taking notice and the Terps are positioned to make a Big Ten title run as well as garnering a great seed in the NCAAs.

All of this means that tomorrow's game at Ohio State is a trap game. The Buckeyes have under achieved all year but are talented. The Terps are coming off that emotionally draining winning in Minneapolis with at top 25 tilt waiting this coming weekend against Purdue.

The Terps are due for a letdown but this team certainly feels different. I suspect they'll get tested to the limit on Tuesday but if it's close down the stretch, I'll be backing the Terps.

#22 Maryland @ Minnesota

The Terps face their toughest road test so far when they travel to Minneapolis to take on the Gophers tomorrow afternoon. The Terps riding high having won 5 straight conference games but there are some areas of concern. Over the last two games, Maryland has turned the ball over 39 times and yielded 43 offensive rebounds to their opponents [...] Read More »

#22 Maryland vs Rutgers

Maryland returns home tomorrow to face Rutgers. At 17-2, the Terps are flying high. Maryland is undefeated on the road this season (4-0 inclusive of Georgetown) and ranked for the second week in a row. Justin Jackson won co-freshman of the week and the Terps continue to play without the services of Dion Wiley and Mikael Cekovsky. I don't [...] Read More »

#25 Maryland @ Iowa

The Terps are ranked and it's about time. This team has put together a wonderful season thus far. That inexplicable Nebraska loss looks like it turned out to be a great lesson for the young Terps. They are finishing games at home and on the road. Tonight's contest pits them against a similar opponent. Iowa starts several freshman but also has [...] Read More »

Maryland @ Illinois

The Terps have notched their two most impressive wins of the season in the last week. They are growing into themselves. The last few minutes of the Indiana game were instructive in terms of how far they've come. During the final 10 minutes, Melo tried to singlehandedly get Maryland back on top. It wasn't working. He'd get into the lane an [...] Read More »

Maryland @ Michigan

I got to be honest. I needed a bit of a break from Maryland basketball after watching the six minutes of hell on New Year's Day. The team simply stopped playing and gave away an easy win. Sure, the Terps probably have been playing with house money given all the close wins they've had, but that one really hurt.  Now, we e got a tough road [...] Read More »

Maryland vs Nebraska

Nebraska comes to town fresh off an impressive road victory at Indiana. The Terps are better than Nebraska and should beat them regardless of the Huskers midweek performance.  There's a lot at stake for Maryland. A win and they will surely be ranked in the Top 25. Also, as evidenced by indiana's inconsistency and Michigan State's many losses, [...] Read More »

Maryland vs Illinois

The Terps open up Big Ten play this afternoon against Illinois at the Comcast Center. If you been following Maryland this year and you think this will be an easy victory; you're kidding yourself. No wins in the Big Ten will be "easy" for Maryland.  The Terps have shown a tenacity that I've rarely seen in all my years following the program, but [...] Read More »

Gameday: Quick Lane Bowl - Maryland vs BC

The Terps play in the venerable Quick Lane Bowl this afternoon in glorious Detroit, Michigan. Maryland and BC are the envy of the sports world as they prepare to take the Field in a cavernous NFL stadium that will be at 25% capacity. I don't have an answer but the NCAA needs to figure out how to make these bowl games more meaningful. For the l [...] Read More »
