#24 Maryland vs Minnesota

First of all, I want to apologize for not putting up a game thread for the Wisconsin game. It's the first time that's happened and I promise it won't happen again.

Sunday's defeat was disheartening. Not so much because we lost but in the way we lost. Wisconsin turned it on in the second half and Maryland couldn't match the intensity. The Terps got manhandled on the glass (18 offensive boards!) and you just can't win that way.

Trimble has been great the last two games but the Terps are at their best when everyone is contributing. Turgeon needs to find ways to help Jackson get out of his slump and they need to run more plays for Huerter.

Now that Ceko is out for the year, the Terps will need big things from Dodd and Bender. It's worth noting that the team played their best without Ceko. I think that Dodd and Bender played better knowing that their minutes were more secure. That said, I'd rather have Ceko for the duration that not have him at all.

Minnesota comes to town in what is arguably, Maryland's toughest remaining game. The Gophers are on the bubble and they played Maryland to the wire in Minneapolis last month. If the Terps are able to win, they have a great shot to finish the season with 5 losses. Tomorrow's game is critical. Time to get the momentum back.

#23 Maryland @ Northwestern

Shit's about to get real for the Maryland Basketball Team. We've had a nice season to date with a couple of strange bumps, but on the whole, this team has exceeded all expectations and is poised for the postseason. The schedule get tougher starting tonight. Amazingly, historical doormat Northwestern has solidified its place as an upper ti [...] Read More »

#21 Maryland vs Ohio State

This week's loss to Penn State was the team's worst performance since the Pitt game and it leaves the Terps in desperation mode against Ohio State today. With a difficult road week ahead (@Northwestern @Wisconsin), a loss could send the team into a tailspin. The problem is multi faceted but part of the issue is Trimble's shot selection. H [...] Read More »

#21 Maryland @ Penn State

The Terps must rebound after Saturday's heartbreak as they go on the road to State College tomorrow. If this team has a weakness, it's that there is sometimes too much deference to Melo Trimble down the stretch. It happened in the Nebraska game and it happened again down the stretch against Purdue. Melo is so good that Turgeon is right to [...] Read More »

#17 Maryland vs #23 Purdue

Incredibly, the Terps are 3-point underdogs at home tomorrow when they take on the Purdue Boilermakers.  That's astounding when you consider that the Terps have a better record against like opponents (they've lost to Iowa and Minnesota), the Terps are ranked higher, and it's a home game. I think it is going to be a close game but the lack [...] Read More »

#17 Maryland @ Ohio State

If you haven't fallen I love with this Terp team yet, then what are you waiting for? Maryland did it again on Saturday. They came from behind with a sublime second half effort against and stout Minnesota squad. Make no mistake, the Gophers didn't blow the game, the Terps just took it from them. Maryland was deadly from behind the arc and [...] Read More »

#22 Maryland @ Minnesota

The Terps face their toughest road test so far when they travel to Minneapolis to take on the Gophers tomorrow afternoon. The Terps riding high having won 5 straight conference games but there are some areas of concern. Over the last two games, Maryland has turned the ball over 39 times and yielded 43 offensive rebounds to their opponents [...] Read More »

#22 Maryland vs Rutgers

Maryland returns home tomorrow to face Rutgers. At 17-2, the Terps are flying high. Maryland is undefeated on the road this season (4-0 inclusive of Georgetown) and ranked for the second week in a row. Justin Jackson won co-freshman of the week and the Terps continue to play without the services of Dion Wiley and Mikael Cekovsky. I don't [...] Read More »

#25 Maryland @ Iowa

The Terps are ranked and it's about time. This team has put together a wonderful season thus far. That inexplicable Nebraska loss looks like it turned out to be a great lesson for the young Terps. They are finishing games at home and on the road. Tonight's contest pits them against a similar opponent. Iowa starts several freshman but also has [...] Read More »

Maryland @ Illinois

The Terps have notched their two most impressive wins of the season in the last week. They are growing into themselves. The last few minutes of the Indiana game were instructive in terms of how far they've come. During the final 10 minutes, Melo tried to singlehandedly get Maryland back on top. It wasn't working. He'd get into the lane an [...] Read More »
