This week's loss to Penn State was the team's worst performance since the Pitt game and it leaves the Terps in desperation mode against Ohio State today.
With a difficult road week ahead (@Northwestern @Wisconsin), a loss could send the team into a tailspin.
The problem is multi faceted but part of the issue is Trimble's shot selection. He's shooting 37% from the field over his last 10 games and feels like it's gotten worse over the last two games.
Maryland is at its best when they are sharing the ball with Heurter, Trimble, and Cowan distributing. They can't keep just giving the ball to Trimble in crunch time and let him drive to the hole in the hopes of getting fouled. Justin Jackson needs to be more involved. It's no coincidence that his scoring has receded during this swoon.
As for the Terps opponent, Ohio State is putrid on the road and doesn't really play as a team. Yet, they are talented and will make the Terps pay for sloppy play.
The game is crucial. The Terps need a jumpstart to the week ahead.
