The Terps are ranked and it's about time. This team has put together a wonderful season thus far. That inexplicable Nebraska loss looks like it turned out to be a great lesson for the young Terps.
They are finishing games at home and on the road. Tonight's contest pits them against a similar opponent. Iowa starts several freshman but also has a star scorer in Peter Jok. The difference between the teams is that Iowa has predictably struggled while Maryland keeps winning.
The Terps are 28-5 in games decided by 6 points or less under Melo Trimble. That's not luck. It's execution and a steady hand. A win tonight and the Terps should coast into the Minnesota game at 18-2 as Rutgers won't pose much of a threat midweek.
This is not a game to be taken for granted however. Iowa beat Purdue last week and the Terps a susceptible on the road like any other team. But at this point in the season, it feels like we are playing with house money. If the freshman continue their wonderful form, we should come out on top.
