#14 Maryland vs Illinois

3/2/2016 8:06:51 PM The Terps enter the last week of the regular season with their worst ranking of the year. Maryland has lost 3 of their last 4 games and seem completely incapable of protecting the glass.

The fact that this team- arguably the most talented in Maryland history- could allow 19 offensive on 29 missed shots at Purdue on Saturday is one of the most damning statistics I've ever seen.

If you are looking for an Achilles heel, search no more. The Terps simply cannot beat good teams in March while putting forth that kind of rebounding effort.

The good news is that rebounding is about desire and effort. You can't teach Damonte Dodd to play with the offensive skill of Diamond Stone overnight but you can certainly commit to boxing out and rebounding with abandon in a short period of time.

Let's hope Maryland has decided to get serious about it. It has already cost them a top seed in the Tournament. It's not too late to cost them the season. However, if they don't fix it, it undoubtedly will.

Any betting person would be selling the Terps short right now. They have all the markings of a talented team that lacks the necessary fundamentals to put together a tournament run. It's time for the Terps to start proving people wrong.

Illinois is garbage but the Terps haven't put together a dominant performance in over a month so now would be a good time to start. The Indiana game is likely meaningless in terms of Big Ten Tournament seedlings but the Terps need to play well in both games this week to have any hope at a top 3 seed.

Ok now let's go out there and beat the Illini by 20 points.
