1/14/19 #19 Maryland vs. Wisconsin

After a most impressive week, the Terps finds themselves in the top 20. It's exciting to see them turn things around from the early season stumbles. In both games, the Terps fell behind and then came back to win comfortably. Indiana cut it to three on a buzzer beater but the Terps had a two possession lead or greater for most of the second half.

Much of the credit goes to Mark Turgeon for moving Cowan back to the point and not being afraid to throw in a zone defense to disrupt teams. Those factors have been key to the Terps success. Throw in the fact that Bruno has become a dominant force in the paint on both ends of the floor and Maryland looks hard to stop.

The team is rounding into shape but the tests don't stop. Wisconsin comes to town this evening and they are always a tough out. Ethan Happ is their do-everything big man so it will be interesting to see if and how the Maryland bigs are able to corral him.

Tonight's game is critical because the Terps have to travel to Ohio State later in the week and then early next week, they head to East Lansing to face #6 Michigan State. A win tonight, and the Terps will have given themselves some cushion. Basically, a win tonight and they are playing with house money for the next two games.
